yikes. i bought a bike a couple of weeks ago, and in the last few days, there has been an explosion of idiocy on the craigslist sarasota rants & raves, from motorists who are making blatant threats to run cyclists off the road. some of them are even attaching pictures along with their posts of cyclists who have been struck by vehicles. twisted.

personally, this probably won't be an issue for me, seeing as i insist on riding on the sidewalk, but last saturday night, on the way home from work, i was yelled at by two seperate motorists, for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

also, there was a big mess of an accident near my work the other day where, reportedly, a large truck hit a cyclist. i've actually noticed how dangerous that intersection was myself, and i've been walking my bike across for a while now. somehow, people tend to notice someone walking a bike, whereas they don't seem to see someone riding it, however the fuck that works. i actually had one woman, riding by herself in a bigass black sports/utility vehicle, flip me off when i pointed at the crosswalk sign when she turned in front of me. wtf?!
